Hazret Sultan Mosque

Hazret Sultan Mosque is a large cathedral mosque in Astana, opened in 2012 near Independence Square. The white building with blue domes, a main dome about 51 m high, and four 77-meter minarets can be seen from afar. Inside are a spacious prayer hall, a women’s gallery, ablution facilities, a library, and classrooms. The complex is notable as a modern example of Islamic architecture in Kazakhstan.
