Baiterek

Baiterek is a monument and observation tower on the left bank of Astana, one of the main symbols of the modern capital. The 105-meter-high structure refers to the image of the Tree of Life from Kazakh mythology; the upper sphere houses a panoramic deck with views of the government quarter, Nurzhol Boulevard, and the city’s new districts. Inside are also the compositions “Ayaly Alaqan” and “Bata,” connected with the history of the capital and interfaith dialogue.
