The “Wall of Peace” is a monument on Independence Square in Astana, next to the “Qazaq Eli” monument and the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation. It opened in 2018 for the capital’s 20th anniversary and is dedicated to the idea of peace and the rejection of nuclear testing. Made of steel and granite, the structure is designed as a long wall that turns into a petal-shaped canopy with an LED screen; the word “peace” is inscribed on its surface in 51 languages. The surrounding area is suitable for a short walk around the main square.
