Ereymentau Mountains

The Ereymentau Mountains are a low mountain range of Saryarka east of Astana, mainly in the Ereymentau District of Akmola Region. They feature granite hills, ridges, steppe valleys, small gorges and lakes; part of the area is included in Buiratau National Park. The area is interesting for hiking trips and observing steppe landscapes and wildlife: argali, roe deer, birds of prey, relict birch groves and rare plants can be found here.
