Lake Bolshaya Saryoba

Bolshaya Saryoba is a salty steppe lake in Akmola Region, southeast of Astana. The reservoir occupies a broad open basin with sandy shores and shallow areas; nearby there is a seasonal recreation area with an equipped beach, gazebos, and cabins. People come here in summer to swim, walk by the water, have picnics, and enjoy a quiet nature getaway. The lake is also known for its salty water and clay-mud areas along the shore.
